During the K 2025 in Düsseldorf, under the motto „From Lab to Production“, COLLIN Lab & Pilot Solutions presents a variety of novelties and further developments. The specialist for laboratory, pilot and production lines does not only show individual components but introduces complete lines and machines in live operation at the booth.
PILOT LINE flat film line– 9-layer coextrusion in live operation
„Our PILOT LINE 9-layer coextrusion flat film line with embossing is this year`s K 2025 highlight. In live operation, we demonstrate the production of multi-layer films, which for example are used for packaging applications. The heart of the line is a 600 mm chill roll with hydraulic smoothing roll and a 9-layer feed block with selector plug. The line is supplemented by a capacitive thickness measurement, an edge cutting system with stand-alone edge strip winder and two winders Type E 600 Gap. As option, a gravure roll can be integrated, which allows embossing the film.
MEDICAL LINE tube line – 3-segment coextrusion line in live operation
The medical tube line is another highlight at the COLLIN booth: A sequential coextrusion line with three segments, which can be seen in live operation. This line was especially developed to produce high-precision multi-lumen and plastic tubes for medical applications. The line is equipped with three extruders, a new sequential die, a water bath with vacuum calibration as well as a new belt take-off with integrated cutting unit and allows the production of tubes for, for example, endoscopy or for cardiac catheters.
POLYTEST LINE COFICOS 200: optical film inspection in live operation
Furthermore, with the POLYTEST LINE COFICOS 200, the company presents a new solution for optical film inspection. The line combines a single-screw extruder, a chill roll and an inspection unit with camera. It detects optical errors such as gel particles, black spots or pigment agglomerates in coloured films and provides important data for quality control.
With its ergonomic design, which is open to the front, the innovation offers an excellent accessibility and can flexibly be adapted to the space, which is available at the customer. It is designed for a film width of 200 mm, however, in future, it will also be available as COFICOS 400 for a width of up to 400 mm. During the exhibition, COLLIN presents this line in combination with a line camera and a haze measuring device for the determination of hazes and light dispersion in transparent films.
POLYTEST LINE pressure filter test AFT MP: automatic polymer quality control
Moreover, the COLLIN team shows the automatic pressure filter test AFT MP with automatic screen change in live operation. During the filter change, extruder and melt pump continue to operate. A filter magazine for up to 20 filter cassettes guarantees the constant operation of the pressure filter test. The test system can, for example, be used for standardized pressure filter tests or for quality control.
Further exhibits from the LAB and POLYTEST LINE complete the exhibition appearance
The COLLIN K 2025 machines are completed by further exhibits from the LAB LINE. These include the Press 300 Professional, the Roll Mill 150 Professional as well as the Compounder ZK20.
